He Flicked Gravy On The New Guy, Then The Black Light Caught His Own Initials

"He didn't spill it. Let it dry." That was all Tobias Kern said — and Sergeant Doyle answered by tipping a bowl of gravy across his clean grey shirt.
Two weeks from a transfer extension he needs, Private Niko Delgado is on his knees in the scullery with his own apron bunched in both hands, ordered to wipe a spill he never made while the whole evening meal rush watches.
Doyle owns this room. He owns the roster, he owns the trays, and his initials sit on paperwork he should never have touched.
Delgado keeps his eyes down and wipes. Kern doesn't move, doesn't raise his voice, doesn't put a hand on anyone. He just asks one quiet question: who initials the tray cards here?
Doyle takes that as permission. He flicks the bowl with two fingers and a short wrist flick, and grey-brown gravy arcs across Kern's chest. The bowl rolls once and settles. The room goes quiet enough to hear it.
Then Doyle does what men with rank do — he punishes with paper. Kern is written onto the worst duty slot for the next week, and Boyd laughs and calls it fair.
You'll think you know where this ends: the loud man wins, the quiet one mops, the kid keeps his head down and loses his extension.
You'd be wrong. The tray card Kern has been holding flat in his right hand since the first frame came off Doyle's own sign-out sheet — and the black UV light over the wet floor is about to read it out loud.
Sergeant Doyle's initials glow under that light. So does the photo on Kern's phone: one paused frame of a hand tipping a bowled tray of gravy toward the inside of the conveyor, Delgado's hairnetted head just under the bowl, same counter, same overhead light.
