However a fiercely relentless and highly organized federal marshal played by Tom Cruise begins systematically hunting down the scattered remnants of the makeshift family Wales fought so hard to build and protect. Realizing that a man cannot forever run from his destiny Wales seeks out an old eccentric ally played by Jeff Bridges. The story erupts with blistering and dust choked shootouts under the burning desert sun. It evolves into a highly tense psychological game of cat and mouse between a disciplined marshal and a cunning survivor.
